Services relate to the arrangement of mortgages, non-investment insurance products and intermediary network services, residential sales, lettings, land and new homes, and conveyancing support. Services to mortgage lenders include valuation and panel management services, asset management and property management services.


Key Mission


The Group Management Accountant is an important role within Group Finance, responsible for the preparation of financial reporting of the Group whilst ensuring alignment to accounting policies and procedures. Reporting into the Group Head of Reporting, the role combines financial, analytical and management skills to aid senior management with decision making and long-term success of the Group.


Role Responsibilities

  • Consolidation of the monthly Group P&L accounts, cash-flow and balance sheet, and preparation of Group management accounts pack
  • Preparation & analysis of monthly Head Office management P&L accounts and forecasts, cash-flow and balance sheet reconciliations
  • Providing analysis and insight into cost and revenue variances and trends and driving improvement in cost reporting and management across the Group
  • Responsible for monthly preparation and distribution of Group Corporate Function recharges
  • Tracking and reporting monthly capital expenditure and project forecasts across the Divisions
  • Analysis of balance sheet & cash-flows, such as aged debtors/creditors, and other working capital elements
    • Supporting all Group Finance responsibilities, working closely with the Group Head of Reporting and other members of the Financial and Management reporting team
    • Work closely with Group Finance colleagues to ensure full understanding of the financials and reporting landscape
    • Strive for continuous improvement in all processes to drive robust and accurate outputs, including improvements to reporting, self-serve capability and systems development
  • Support budget preparation for Head Office cost centre and Corporate Function recharges
  • Group Audit support – preparation of lead schedules and to support Interim and Full Year reporting
    • Ad-hoc tasks and projects as required

Role Specification


  • Newly qualified or part qualified CIMA, ACCA or ACA. Study support is available
  • Experience in a management accounts role with exposure to P&L, Balance Sheet and Cashflow
  • The ability to communicate effectively with key stakeholders and build relationships across the Group
  • Focus to detail and accuracy, with the ability to identify trends and deviations from expected results
  • The ability to manage time and prioritise effectively to work to deadlines
  • Needs to be able to provide a strong support to the Group Finance function, demonstrate critical thinking and effective problem solving.




  • Preferably audit practise experience from the top 4
  • Enthusiasm and a willingness to get involved in a diverse range of tasks.
  • The ability to work well within a team
  • Strong numeracy and literacy skills
  • Proficient user of MS Office, particularly MS Excel and accounting software, ideally SUN accounts
