We currently have a vacancy for a Business Intelligence Technician within our MI department

About the Business Intelligence Technician Role:

Reporting into Martin Wright, Business Intelligence Manager, you will monitor the MI systems, general enquiries and administration as well as the upkeep of the scheduling and workflows.

Your Responsibilities

  • Ensure company Data Protection policy and security processes are adhered to.

 

  • Provide first line support for incoming MI requests and queries

 

  • Ensure requestors are kept up to date and expectations are managed as requests are progressed

 

  • Play an active role prioritising requests and ensuring the application of Business Intelligence Analyst resources to requests remains efficient

 

  • Implement and validate “quick fix” report changes

 

  • Awareness of outcomes of automated report scheduling, including impact of factors such as non-working days and a new year on filters and calculations.

 

  • Documentation of changes and archival of past report version in line with stipulated process.

 

  • Ensure external data extracts are received for import and that they are correct.

 

  • Ensure externally-sent data feeds are transmitted correctly.

 

  • Run manually-triggered data loading jobs as necessary.

 

  • Validate data held following daily loads against source systems or feeds to ensure overall MI system accuracy

 

  • Manage scheduled reports and data loading jobs on an ongoing basis to ensure distribution lists are up to date and resolution of any failures.

 

  • Monitor MI system’s virtual servers via the Central Management Console to ensure issues are identified and remedied speedily.

 

  • Manage the hosted MI servers including scheduled maintenance routines and monitoring of server performance and available storage capacity.
